Water is the essence of life. In a world facing water scarcity, pollution, and climate change, understanding and managing this vital resource is more critical than ever.
Allwaters is aiming to tackle these challenges by bringing together Europe’s most innovative minds and organizations to ensure a sustainable future for all. We need a broad range of partners to help. That’s where you come into the equation.
Still not sure if you should join? We will let our partners tell you why.
An EIT Knowledge and Innovation Community is a thriving partnership that brings together partners from business, research centres and higher education institutions to power innovation.
The EIT has set up nine KICs, each tackling a specific global challenge, from climate change to sustainable energy and urban mobility to the digitalisation of our societies.

Allwaters is a consortium whose goal is to lead a successful bid to the upcoming KIC focused on water, marine, and maritime sectors and ecosystems.
We aim to establish a KIC that embraces the full spectrum of water challenges, ensuring a broad and inclusive approach. We are building an ecosystem of diverse partners from across Europe, each bringing unique perspectives and strengths to the table for the benefit of all. Together, we cover all aspects of water — from clean drinking water to vast oceans.
The Allwaters consortium wants to bring together the brightest minds representing the full spectrum of water from Businesses of all sizes, Research Organisations, Universities, Knowledge Institutes, Public Authorities, NGOs and Investors.
Core Partners are asked to actively deliver input during the application phase, contribute to the application through participation in working group meetings, network meetings and to represent and include local network.
Affiliated partners can register their interest and endorsement to the Allwaters consortium. Once the KIC is established in 2026, each partner will decide the level of commitment and engagement in EIT Water.
There is no financial commitment to the consortium during the application phase.
We ask core partners to fund the bidding process by attenting physical consortium meetings, which include covering travel costs and similar expenses, to assign dedicated and qualified resources to working groups, and to read and provide feedback on the application during the different stages of the application phase.
Once the KIC is granted, a membership fee model will be established to secure other sources of funding besides the EIT grant. Membership fees give the KIC room for operational flexibility as well as the possibility to implement activities or pursue investments which are not eligible from the EIT grant.
